Police are investigating a theft which occurred at the Petro Travel Plaza around 1030 hrs. Employees at the travel plaza reported that a black male had entered the plaza, pried open a coin machine and stole the cash within. Employees reported that male used a pry bar to lift the lid and appeared to be working on the machine so the employees did not call police. The employees followed to black male when he left the property and observed him get into a green car with a blue license plate and drive away. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 717-249-7191.
Police arrested Matthew Starry age 31, of Keller Lane in Shermansdale at 0045 hrs after he almost struck a township police car after he drove into the oncoming lane of travel. Police turned around and got behind Starry’s vehicle where he was observed to repeatedly swerve side to side both in his lane and into the oncoming lane of travel. Starry was arrested for DUI of alcohol and drugs and transported to the Carlisle Regional Med Ctr where he agreed to a legal blood draw, prior to being taken the county booking center.
Police arrested Sean Patrick DONAHUE, age 21, of N. Powderhorn Rd in Mechanicsburg, Pa at 0210 hrs after he was observed operating a vehicle on the Harrisburg Pike without required rear lighting. While speaking with DONAHUE, officers detected that he had bloodshot/glassy eyes, an odor of alcoholic beverage about his breath and sluggish/uncoordinated movements. DONAHUE admitted to police that he had been drinking alcoholic beverages just prior to driving. DONAHUE was placed under arrest and transported to Carlisle Reg. Med Ctr where he submitted to a blood draw. He was then transported to the county booking center where he was charged with DUI.
Police arrested Dylan ZERPHEY, age 24, of Horseshoe Trail Ln in Palmyra, Pa at 2226 hrs after he was observed operating a vehicle on Wertzville Road with rear lighting on his vehicle not working. Upon stopping ZERPHEY, officers detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and on ZERPHEY’s person and ZERPEY displayed signs of intoxication, he admitted to police that he had smoked marijuana about 30 mins prior to being stopped. Police searched ZERPHEY’s vehicle and recovered marijuana and pipe used to smoke it. ZERPHEY was transported to Carlisle Hospital where he submitted to a blood draw prior to being taken to the county booking center. ZERPHEY was charged with DUI.
